Emeka Azuka Okoye






Emeka Okoye is a Software Engineer and a Techpreneur based in Lagos and Nairobi. He is also the co-founder of Next2, an outfit whose mission is to create social and economic value for its users by connecting them to people and organizations nearby with whom they share common interests or concerns.

Emeka has over 19 years of progressive experience in Web, Enterprise & Mobile Software development and Project Management including management, strategic technical analysis, architecture design, planning and product development using object-oriented approach, agile methodology with best of breed technologies.

In 2011 he was named among the Techloy’s Best People, Brand & Events of 2010. His Ozii mobile application was named the second best mobile application at the 2011 Mobile Web West Africa Expo. During the same year, he built the first Mobile App for Election reporting and violence, monitoring elections in Nigeria & Liberia.

In 1996, Emeka designed the first banking website in Nigeria. In 1998 he co-founded one of Nigeria's earliest and popular web portals - Nigeria Exchange (ngex). In 2001 Emeka joined OpenLink Software Ltd, one of the worlds biggest middleware companies. He later rose to Country Manager for the West African region.

Emeka is the Mobile Product Manager for StorySpaces, an online storytelling platform for civic journalism, education, business and media.

Emeka is a leading contributor to technology in Africa.

Bartholomew Nnaji
