Ezekiel Izuogu



Engineer Ezekiel Izuogu is a scientist, a former lecturer and inventor of Nigeria’s first indigenous car, Z 600.

The Izuogu Z-600 prototype was the first indigenous Nigerian car. It is also the first automobile of indigenous all-African technology. Launched in 1997, it cause a stir in the hearts of the many Nigerians who hope for a personal car and stimulated the Nigerian media.

The prototype was equipped with a self made 1.8L four cylinder engine that got 18mpg and allowed the car to achieve a top speed of 140 km/h (86 mph).

The Igbo people must carry their great scientists and inventors in a mass movement to mass-produce Igbo inventions. God has blessed Igbo people in a special way with world-class scientists and inventors. Some of them are now our grandfathers. Our grandparents are among the greatest scientists and inventors in the world. We don’t need billionaires or the government to popularize and mass-produce the inventions of our people for our own good. Our politicians and billionaires are not looking out for our great scientists and inventors. Ordinary people in Igboland united in a common front can put money together to achieve any common purpose. We can acquire any technology if we dare to and it is good business because it puts money into our pockets at the end of the day. King Onyeama of Eke

The King of Agbaja, Onyeama n’Eke was the greatest king in northern Igboland. He was probably the greatest Igbo king in living memory. From his palace in Eke, Onyeama reigned over the entire Agbaja, from Oji River though Udi and Ezeagu to the present-day political capital of Igboland, Enugu, and even Nkanu and Ogui communities. Onyeama was born circa 1870s, the youngest of the ten children of Özö Omulu Onwusi, a polygamous titled man of means, and an only son of his mother – Chinazungwa Ijeonyeabo of nearby Ebe community. Bartholomew Nnaji

Bartholomew Nnaji is a scientist, innovator and one of the inventors of the E-Design concept. He was born in Enugu State, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics at St John's University, and then preceded to the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University for post-graduate studies. He joined the faculty at University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1983. After a few years, he became the director and a founder of the Automation and Robotics Laboratory at the University. He was made a professor of mechanical and industrial engineering in 1992. As a researcher, he focused on three major topics: Computer Aided Design, Robotics and Computer Aided Engineering.
