Chikezie Russell Okeafor is a professional football outside linebacker who plays for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League.
The Cardinals, last night, lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl XLIII. Okeafor played for West Lafayette Junior-Senior High School in West Lafayette, Indiana, winning a state championship in 1993 under Indiana high school coach Ernie Beck. He was originally drafted by the 49ers in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft (89th overall), Okeafor spent four years with the 49ers before signing with the Seattle Seahawks as an unrestricted free agent in 2003. He signed with the Cardinals in 2005 to a five-year contract and led the team in sacks (8.5) in 2006, tallying 7.5 of them over the final seven games.
Chikezie majored in engineering at Purdue University, where his mother is a professor.
