Lawrence Okolie



Lawrence 'The Sauce' Okolie is a professional boxer who on Saturday delivered a punch-perfect display before landing a sixth-round knockout of Krzysztof Glowacki to become WBO world cruiserweight champion.

Okolie was born in Hackney, London to Igbo parents. He attended Stoke Newington School. He was selected for Team GB in 2016 Rio Olympics. At the time Lawrence was studying Psychosocial Studies at the University of East London and had to defer his third year because of the Olympics.

On 18 January 2017, Okolie announced his decision to turn professional, signing with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Sport to compete in the cruiserweight division. On 20 March 2021, Okolie became the WBO cruiserweight champion of the world.

Ifeyinwa Aniebo

Ify Aniebo is currently a PhD student at the University of Oxford. Donatus Ibeakwadalam Nwoga

The late Donatus Nwoga was a Professor of African Literature and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
