Ifunanya 'Funa' Maduka

Ifunanya 'Funa' Maduka, a filmmaker, is a former director of international original films at Netflix. She was on the front line of Netflix’s international expansion, launching and expanding the international film offering across more than 100 territories.

Her acquisitions brought Netflix its first feature film nominations at both the Golden Globes (Houda Benyamina’s Divines) and the Academy Awards (Ildiko Enyedi’s On Body And Soul).

Further notable acquisitions and productions include: Atlantic, I Lost My Body, Happy As Lazzaro, The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind , Calibre, and Lionheart. Maduka also oversaw the French production, I Am Not an Easy Man, the upcoming Quebecois production from Patrice Laliberte.

Funa holds a BA in History from Cornell University and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, where she served on the Board of Trustees and as President of the Student Body, respectively. She has also held leadership and strategic positions at McKinsey & Company, the Oprah Winfrey Foundation, the Obama Campaign, the Clinton Global Initiative and Goldman Sachs.

She was recently inducted into the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences as a full voting member.

King Onyeama of Eke

The King of Agbaja, Onyeama n’Eke was the greatest king in northern Igboland. He was probably the greatest Igbo king in living memory. From his palace in Eke, Onyeama reigned over the entire Agbaja, from Oji River though Udi and Ezeagu to the present-day political capital of Igboland, Enugu, and even Nkanu and Ogui communities. Ify Aniebo is currently a PhD student at the University of Oxford. She has a first degree in Medical Genetics from Queen Mary’s University, a MSc in Applied Bimolecular Technology from Nottingham University and has a scholarship from the Prince’s Trust. The late Donatus Nwoga was a Professor of African Literature and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Donatus was the Secretary of the Planning and Management Committee of the former Eastern Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (1970); member of the Board of the former East-Central State Broadcasting Corporation (1974-76); member of the former East-Central State Library Board (1975-76); and former member of Imo State Library Board (1977-79).
