Chikodili Emelumadu is a journalist, blogger, broadcaster, and author. She disappointed her father by declining to study medicine, opting instead to dwell in the world of writing where she had always been comfortable. She chose to indulge her vivid imagination and flights of fancy with a degree in English from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka.
Chikodili left Awka to complete a Masters degree in Cross-cultural Communications at the University of Newcastle, in England. While training for a professional qualification in journalism at Harlow College, she wrote for community newspapers before joining the BBC. After three years working as a Producer at the African Productions section of the BBC World Service in London she struck out on her own to concentrate full-time on writing.
Chikodili blogs at igbophilia.wordpress.com, where she posts rants, short stories, and vignettes about 'Igboness' in its various forms. She's currently working on several projects, including at least two books. She can also be found on twitter using the handle @chemelumadu, where she also rants occasionally.
