Chika Okpala



Chief Chika Okpala, aka, Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwogbo alias 4:30, is one of Nigeria's greatest comedians. His TV comedy series 'New Masquerade' was probably the funniest of all TV comedies in Nigeria. It ran from 1983-1993. Chika became famous for using incorrect English in his role as Chief Zebrudaya and continued with that style years after New Masquerade was rested.

Chika was born in 1950 and attended St. Paul’s CMS School, Ebenisi-Nnobi, Government School Ahoada Rivers State Baptist Day School and University of Nigeria, Nsukka.The entertainer who has bagged such national honors as MON and MFR.

Chika Okpala is a living legend.

Sure he is great, but don't forget to give due respect to the main creator of 'The Masquerade', the one and only 'Gringory' aka James Iroha! He was the brain behind the series.

Donatus Ibeakwadalam Nwoga

The late Donatus Nwoga was a Professor of African Literature and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
